Melissa Q and A
1. Why did you become a Legal Executive?
I have always had a passion for the law and most of my previous roles were within a legal environment. I decided one day to take a leap and study part-time while I was working and put some of my experience into a qualification that I could use to help others with important decisions and stages of their lives.
2. When you are not being a legal executive what do you like doing most?
Making memories with family and friends.
3. Where is your special place in the region?
I love the Wairarapa for the laid back feel, the sunshine and of course the good wine! But Rotorua will always be home, having grown up there.
4. What is your favourite shop/restaurant?
Hard to pick just one! I love shopping locally where I can and supporting small businesses.
5. How would you describe your style of practice?
Approachable and efficient. I like to get to know my clients on a personal level and work through the best way to help them in their situation.
6. If you had to give a first homebuyer a single piece of advice, what would it be?
Take a breath. At the beginning it all seems very overwhelming – the paperwork full of legal jargon, the timeframes, the reports, all the parties involved. By engaging us in the process we can help and take away all of that stress for you!
7. What is different about the GYW and HomeLegal service that makes it so popular?
The firm’s philosophy of all-round excellence in service to our clients. No matter who you deal with here, you will always receive the same friendly, knowledgeable and pragmatic responses.
